Wet cell scrubbers

Horizontal gas flow with vertical packing rings bed: they are the most diffused galvanic industry, textile, electronics and chemical. These units can be either single or double stage, upon the contaminants are mostly acid, alkaline or both: in this case two separate pumps are used for irrigation of the packing beds, with different neutralizing agents, and the base tank has an internal segragation wall. In both cases the final dynamic mist separator is double. A special version is the closed-circuit one for the stripping of gases diluted in waste waters and subsequent neutralization in gas phase: e.g. degassing of ammonia water followed by salification with Sulphuric Acid. The built-in instrumentation comprises one or more pH or Redox analyzers, along with related reagents metering pumps; the control of the fan speed allow to maintain the suction head constant irregardless of any gas flowrate changes. Common construction materials are PVC and PP; flowrates from 2,000 to 35,000 cmh.
